Lubbesthorpe Christians Together (LCT) is a network of Christian believers living out and sharing their faith across the growing community of Lubbesthorpe.
We do not have a church building, nor do we have a regular 'Sunday Service' ... and it may surprise you to hear that we do not aspire to have these things! Instead we have a shared love of Jesus, a love of our neighbours, and a desire to follow the Holy Spirit in God's mission across the growing community of Lubbesthorpe. The way we operate is flexible and adaptable, yet deeply rooted in God and God's mission. This enables us to accept people coming from diverse backgrounds, good places and broken places. We are able to draw in the whole family together - young and old, believing, unsure or otherwise.
It is this love that is most important to us - first and foremost we are about people!
Each of us can pray for our neighbours, and we can encourage each other to keep doing so. From that simple starting point we can connect together and gather in various ways - with our different groups and activities being the visible lines joining us. Some people are on just one line, others two or more.
For us meeting together is about:
Letting God transform our lives.
Deepening our relationships as a Christian community across Lubbesthorpe.
Encouraging us to share our faith with others - that we might be transformed together.

For some ‘LCT’ is now their church, while others also belong to an established church elsewhere. All of us want to live out our faith in ways that are genuine and real - LCT exists to help all of us do just that!
We encourage each other to be active locally using our gifts & abilities, for example joining in with the Lubbesthorpe Alive community activities.
In 2008 Christians in Churches Together in Leicestershire talked and prayed with Christians in nearby churches about a potential large housing development being considered by The Drummond Estate and Blaby District Council. They approached the council with a positive desire to help build community, out of which a partnership formed that enabled Churches Together to employ Rev. Sue Steer as a Pioneer Community Worker. This was in 2016 as the first foundations of 'New Lubbesthorpe' were being laid. The role was to see healthy community develop for everyone, and to see a Christian community seeded.
From May 2018 a small group of Christian new residents started to meet to pray, eat together, and discern God's mission in Lubbesthorpe - meetings that became known as Heart and Soul. In 2020 Lubbesthorpe Alive CIC was established as a community development social enterprise based in The Hub and the Heart & Soul group continued under their umbrella. Over time two other Christian faith activities developed - Mossy Church and Monday Morning Prayers. In 2023 the Christian community formed a charity in their own right called Lubbesthorpe Christians Together (LCT), which continues to develop a new way of being church as the neighbourhood grows and new people join.
WhatsApp is our preferred messaging platform to keep each other informed, with a WhatsApp Community for occasional announcements, and WhatsApp groups for each of the regular activities/gatherings. To join simply make contact with us - message 07719 193771.

Our values were formed in the early days of 'Heart and Soul' meetings (see 'Our Story' above), and continue to permeate all that we do. We strive to be inclusive, welcoming people in all their diversity.

empowered by the Holy Spirit
Originally we received yearly grants from Churches Together in Leciestershire to help us get going. That funding ended in 2023 and now we are entirely self-funded by those who come along to our groups. Our outgoings include hire of The Hub, food and craft equipment and the employment of a Community Minister for 1 day a week. If you would like to make a one-off donation please use the donate button to make an online donation. If you would like to give regularly, please contact us - thank you!
Lubbesthorpe Christians Together continues to work in association with Lubbesthorpe Alive, and retains links with Churches Together in Leicestershire. LCT was intentionally formed as not being tied to any one denomination, hoping to embrace Christians from all streams who want to join in with what we see God doing across the community as it expands. Some of us are baptist - linked to the East Midlands Baptist Association, whiles others attend or maintain links with Anglican, Pentecostal and independent churches. Furthermore we also have links to CMS Pioneering.
